Herbal Properties:

- Green Yerba Mate:Yerba mate or Green mate comes from South America where it is an everyday drink of the people in Argentina and Brazil. It has been revered for centuries as the "drink of the gods"

- Cardamom: A household spice that is commonly used to support digestion without increasing Heat.* It has expectorant and diaphoretic actions. (sweat inducing)* The mucus forming properties of milk are neutralized when cardamom is added to it.*

- Cinnamon: This warming spice is traditionally used in cold formulas as an expectorant and diaphoretic (sweat inducing).* Due to its warming property, cinnamon is known to promote digestion.*

- Cloves: An energizing herb,* cloves are an effective stimulant and aromatic for the lungs and stomach.* Cloves are used extensively in Ayurvedic herbology.

- Ginger: In Ayurvedic and Chinese herbology, Ginger is known to have heating, cleansing, toning and stimulating properties.* Ginger promotes digestion, relieves abdominal discomfort, dispels chills and it is also useful for relieving respiratory complaints due to phlegm and arthritic conditions due to coldness.*

- Acai Berry: Because the acai berry is relatively new to the western world, very little research has been done on it and its effects, especially in the area of rapid weight loss, which may be exaggerated. What is known is that the acai berry is extremely high in antioxidants and anthocyanins, rich in protein fiber, vitamin E and iron. It is reported that it helps promote cardiovascular and digestive functions. It is naturally low in sugar and the flavor is described as a mixture of red wine and chocolate.

It was first used by tribes in the Amazon for various medicinal purposes, among them the ability to build and strengthen the immune system, fight infection and to protect the heart.* It was also revered as an energy food, and was traditionally pulped to make wine.

I must say that I just don\'t like Mate Chai. I bought both the Wild Blueberry Mate Chai and the Acai Berry Mate Chai because I wanted to try Yogic Chai\'s new blends. I just LOVE their chai. And I must say that it was better than any other Mate that I\'ve tried but Mate just isn\'t for me. They have a \"milky\" not flavor, but texture that I just don\'t like, that\'s the best way for me to explain it. I still give this a good rating though because I think if you like Mate Chai, you\'ll love Yog..

When I opened up my package i just became enamored with that smell. It's a perfect chai aroma with a little of muscatel in the background. The water became instantly purple when I put the blend into steep, that's nice to know I will truly get the health benefits such as it being high in antioxidants. I had been really curious what this would taste like- well the two flavors balanced each other out. The chai flavor was mider. Great and different...
