It is with great pleasure to announce that Yogic Chai's Original Masala Chai won 1st place for the Chai category at the 2011 North American Tea Championship with the highest rating ever given to a chai blend since the championship started!


The North American Tea Championship is the only professionally judged tea competition in North America. Each year, the competition identifies the highest quality and best tasting teas that are commercially available in the marketplace.

Judges of the North American Tea Championship included:

The tea submissions were evaluated blind and through organoleptic analysis of the following characteristics: dry leaf, brewed color, brewed aroma, brewed flavor, brewed mouth-feel, and brewed harmony. An overall numerical value on a 100-point scale was then calculated based on the ratings of each characteristic above. Winners were determined by rank.

Last year's winner for the Chai category was Rishi Teas Masala Chai with an 82 out of 100 score. Yogic Chai Original Masala Chai received 89 out of a 100 this year!
