Product Details

Herbal Properties:

- Kukicha Tea: Popular among the macrobiotic community. Kukicha is a powerful antioxidant* and is very low in caffeine, in fact the lowest in caffeine of all traditional teas.

- Cardamom: A household spice that is commonly used to support digestion without increasing Heat.* It has expectorant and diaphoretic actions. (sweat inducing)* The mucus forming properties of milk are neutralized when cardamom is added to it.*

- Cinnamon: This warming spice is traditionally used in cold formulas as an expectorant and diaphoretic (sweat inducing).* Due to its warming property, cinnamon is known to promote digestion.*

- Cloves: An energizing herb,* cloves are an effective stimulant and aromatic for the lungs and stomach.* Cloves are used extensively in Ayurvedic herbology.

- Ginger: In Ayurvedic and Chinese herbology, Ginger is known to have heating, cleansing, toning and stimulating properties.* Ginger promotes digestion, relieves abdominal discomfort, dispels chills and it is also useful for relieving respiratory complaints due to phlegm and arthritic conditions due to coldness.*

- Fennel: A common spice that it is traditionally used in Ayurvedic Medicine to improve digestion and absorption without increasing Fire. Fennel is calming to the nerves and their aroma acts upon the mind and promotes mental awareness. * Fennel is also found to increase low milk supply in breastfeeding moms.*

Brewing Tips

Brewing Instructions:





1) Bring a cup of water to boil and add 1 full tea spoons of Chai.
2) Simmer for at least 2 min.
3) Add 1/4 cup (or your desired amount) of whole milk, skim milk or soy milk and bring mixture to boil without letting it rise (careful!!! it can rise quickly)
4) Add 1 table spoon of your sweetener of preference. (at home we use either maple syrup or agave syrup

Yet another one I love. The Fennel Kukicha Chai is so good. I have never had Kukicha before this and it does give a different profile from other teas such as rooibos, assam and green tea. I thouroughly enjoy it any time of day...but especially when my stomach is feeling a little off or after a big meal, the fennel\'s soothing properties do kick in. My experience thus far with Yogic Chai\'s Tea\'s is that they are masters at blending spices, teas and herbs in ayurvedic principles that the ..

I am really enjoying these kukicha blends. There is an interesting roasted flavor, and I think it even comes out more when I add milk and honey. The fennel adds a unique great flavor to this blend. After it sat awhile the flavor of all the spices were more pronounced, which was even better to me. I made some also into iced and it was refreshing...
